As I am off work that Friday and March water levels may be high, I thought of paddling from Mt. Vernon to the campground, 16.4 miles. If anyone is interested in possibly joining me, let me know. I will be camping Thursday night at Kokosing Valley.
Saturday we will paddle the nine miles down to where the Mohican River joins the Kokosing and forms the Walhonding. It is 5.9 miles further to Mohawk Dam if anyone is interested in going the distance. Honey Run Waterfall is part of the Knox County Park District. We can take a short hike to it. Last fall with low waterlevels it still looked nice.
Fishing should be great if any one wants to. We can even shuttle extra vehicles to accommodate the fishermen. That way part of the group can get back to camp earlier.
Saturday Potluck will be at 6:00pm with an Italian theme. I will have a pot of spaghetti. If it's cold March weather, we may need all the carbohydrates we can get. Wine is optional!!
Sunday we can shuttle upstream and paddle back to camp, which is around 6-7 miles.
