I was unable to work out a through trip as I had wanted to as there were not enough places to camp along the river and there is a chance that the Grand River race will be that weekend. It is the make- up weekend for the race if it can't go the weekend before. If they have the race that weekend we will need to stay away from the Harpersfield Dam to Hidden Valley stretch on Saturday. I am going to wait until closer to decide which sections we will paddle which day. There are stretches both above and below the race stretch that we should be able to do.
Camping - we will be camping at Geneva State Park. I have reserved sites 17, 19, and 21. Please let me know as soon as possible if coming so I will know if that is enough sites for us. Most of the Campgrounds in the area either not open, not answering, or want more money than the State Park to camp. I tried to get us into the Grand River Canoe Livery to camp but they have a boy scout group coming in that weekend (they waited until this week to tell me they could handle us).
Sorry this is so late but I hope to see you all! - don't mean to sound too negative about this trip - it is a very pretty river to paddle - I just have had lots of obstacles come up with races, camping and of course weather is always an issue in the spring.
