We have permission to camp at the Raccoon Creek Paddle and Oars Canoe Livery at the intersection of St Rt 588 and Creek View Dr, Rio Grande, OH 45674. They are on the old Bob Evans property that we camped on years ago.
Camping is FREE and we may have the whole area to ourselves. The canoe livery is closed for the year while they upgrade the campground.
If anyone is interested in camping on Thursday evening the 16th, let me know.
There is no water, electric nor toilet facilities available. Bring your own toilet or use two logs. (I fall off of just one!)
This is primitve camping but trailers are welcome, without any services.
Friday we can explore the downstream section from camp. The livery does not maintain this section but there is a 4 mile or up to 16 mile trip available.
Saturday we will paddle the section from the village of Vinton back to camp, a total of 12 miles.
Potluck can be "Summers Bounty." Items from the garden or farm/home raised and baked goods. Or whatever you really want to bring.
