Sausage and Gravy Breakfast Casserole



  • 12 ounces of buttermilk biscuit dough (I used Grand's, which are slightly bigger)

  • 12 eggs (original recipe called for 6. I changed it to 12)

  • 1 (2 3/4 ounce) package peppered gravy mix (makes 2 cups) or could use 2 packages

  • 1 lb sausage, I used Bob Evans Italian

  • 2 cups cheese, shredded, mild cheddar

  • 2 cups hash browns

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1. Brown the sausage and drain thoroughly.

  • 2. Cut biscuit dough into quarters and line the bottom of Dutch Oven

  • 3. Layer cooked sausage over the biscuit pieces

  • 4. Layer hash browns over sausage

  • 5. Layer shredded cheese over hash browns.

  • 6. Whisk eggs and milk, add salt and pepper and pour over biscuit/layers.

  • 7. Make gravy according to instructions, and pour over everything.

  • 8. Bake for 60-75 minutes or until eggs and biscuits are cooked through.

  • 9. Eat and enjoy. Could add sour cream and/or salsa.
