Sausage and Gravy Breakfast Casserole
- 12 ounces of buttermilk biscuit dough (I used Grand's, which are slightly bigger)
- 12 eggs (original recipe called for 6. I changed it to 12)
- 1 (2 3/4 ounce) package peppered gravy mix (makes 2 cups) or could use 2 packages
- 1 lb sausage, I used Bob Evans Italian
- 2 cups cheese, shredded, mild cheddar
- 2 cups hash browns
- 1/2 cup milk
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1. Brown the sausage and drain thoroughly.
- 2. Cut biscuit dough into quarters and line the bottom of Dutch Oven
- 3. Layer cooked sausage over the biscuit pieces
- 4. Layer hash browns over sausage
- 5. Layer shredded cheese over hash browns.
- 6. Whisk eggs and milk, add salt and pepper and pour over biscuit/layers.
- 7. Make gravy according to instructions, and pour over everything.
- 8. Bake for 60-75 minutes or until eggs and biscuits are cooked through.
- 9. Eat and enjoy. Could add sour cream and/or salsa.
