I am planning a September trip to Burk's Falls/Algonquin day paddling etc from September 1 until September 8. You can come for as much or as little as you like. You probably don't want to travel up on the 5th or home on the 7th as this is their long weekend (Labor Day) as well and the roads could be crowded.
There is some flexibility in these dates as I will be getting up there on the 26th (returning from Yukon Trip) but will need a few days to relax and also get ready for you all.
We will be staying at the house in Burk's Falls. 255 South Service Road Burk's Falls Ontario. We have several beds so no one should have to sleep on the floor.
I plan on having food for meals - will accept donations to help cover the cost of the food.
Here is a list of paddling opportunities and other activities available during the time we are there. There are not in any order and we can decide as a group what we want to do each day.
Paddling Options: - Jack or Pickeral Lake - Magnatawan Lake (in Algonquin)1 - South River area paddle (will be checking out this area while I am up in June/July) - Pontoon boat ride on the Magnatawan River starting and ending at Burk's Falls dock
Non -Paddling Options: - Screaming Heads - Heritage Place - Museum, Pioneer Village, and Portage Flyer Train Ride - New Canadian Canoe Museum, depending on day we went could possibly do a voyager canoe ride on the lake at the museum.
I need to have some idea as to who is coming before I leave for the Yukon on August 11th as I will be going up to the house directly from the end of that trip. Thanks Liz
